Be Part of Our National Endo Video Campaign- Share Your Endo Story
We’re collecting short video clips from people across Aotearoa who live with endometriosis. These videos will be used in our campaign to push for better care, recognition, and disability support.
Far too many of us have been dismissed, misdiagnosed, or left to suffer in silence. The health system wasn’t built for people with endo but our stories have the power to change that.
This campaign is about showing the real faces and voices behind the statistics. It’s about making endo visible. About turning lived experience into impact.
You don’t need fancy equipment just a phone, a quiet space, and your voice.
Because when we speak up together, they can’t ignore us.
🎥 What We Are Asking You to Say In Your Video:
Please record yourself, ideally in front of a plain white background, saying:
-
My first name is...
-
My pronouns are...
-
It took X years to be diagnosed with endometriosis or I’m still waiting — it has been X years
-
A few short sentences about how endo has impacted your life (For example: “It’s affected my ability to study, and I live with daily pain”)
-
Then finish with: “We deserve better."
🎬 Filming Tips & Setup Guide
You don’t need fancy equipment, just a phone or camera, a quiet space, and your story. Here’s how to make it easy:
📱 Use landscape mode: Turn your phone sideways for a horizontal video.
🪑 Sit or stand, your choice: Just make sure you’re framed from the waist up and the background is plain (a wall, sheet, or curtain works great).
💡 Good lighting matters: Film in a quiet space with natural light (face a window if you can). A lamp can help too just avoid dark shadows.
🎥 Camera at eye level: Use a tripod if you have one, or stack books to keep your phone steady. Try to position it about 1 metre away.
🗣️ Speak naturally: You don’t need to be perfect. Just answer the prompts and leave a 20-second pause between each, this helps us edit.
⏱️ Keep it short: Aim for 1–2 minutes total. Simple and clear is perfect.
