Fight Period Poverty With Us
Not all people who menstruate are women, and not all women menstruate,
Bleeding isn't a luxury, no one should have to budget to bleed
Since February 2021, we have been distributing free period packs to individuals and organizations throughout Aotearoa. However, in August 2022, we made the difficult decision to shift our focus towards our local community. Our community includes the cities and suburbs of Wellington (Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western) as well as the Wairarapa area. We believe that by concentrating our efforts in this way, we can make a more significant impact in addressing period poverty.
EWA's mission is to reduce period inequity in our community by providing single-use period baskets in various locations and gifting 8000 members of our community with free reusable period items by the end of 2023. In addition, we will continue to offer koha period education in local schools and the wider community.
