Praveen was born and raised in Wellington. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Sciences through the University of Otago, Wellington campus. His passion for women's health originated after spending his medical elective at the Mother Teresa Hospital in Kolkata, India, where he assisted in the safe delivery of many mothers with minimal access to healthcare.
