Nat
Nat is an author, senior communications professional and wedding celebrant. She holds a Bachelor of Communication Studies from AUT and a Diploma in Creative Writing from Whitireia.
After years of pain and suffering, Nat was diagnosed with Stage IV endometriosis in her bowel in 2022.
In 2023, she underwent a bowel resection and excision surgery to remove endometriosis lesions from her pelvis. She then lived with a temporary loop ileostomy for four months before undergoing further surgery to reverse the stoma.
The experience had a major impact on both her physical and mental health.
The self-compassion tools Nat discovered while navigating the emotional journey of endometriosis inspired her to write Endo Empathy, her first nonfiction book, as a compassionate resource for others going through similar experiences.
Nat lives in Tauranga with her husband, daughter and two cats and is a lover of sunshine and the beach.
